I only really use my xbox for kinect and halo. Everything else the pc is better at. Nintendo has always hit the consoles spot on. Designed for party entertainment, kids and family gameplay.

I was about to say the same thing , this would be ideal solution.

Frankly Im tired of consoles holding us back.

Skyrim is an obvious port.. so is MW3.. games that could have been much better if only developed for PCs... Yes when the new consoles come out they'll match PCs for about 6 months or less.. and then we'll be miles ahead in a year and 10 miles ahead in 4 years.

I mean look at these quotes.
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Bethesda's Todd Howard, game director for the forthcoming blockbuster Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, says that gamers should not expect follow-ups to the PS3 and Xbox 360 until 2014, at the very earliest.

Speaking to PSM3 magazine, the Bethesda exec said that gamers were happy with the current generation of console tech and that he didn't expect to see an Xbox 720 or a PlayStation 4 before 2014.

Backing this up is a comment made by a designer who has worked with Microsoft, who implied that a new Xbox 2015 release date is set. In his online portfolio, Ben Peterson wrote "Microsoft Xbox. Confidential / Collaboration with Microsoft's IEB design group investigating future user experiences and hardware for 2015."

Alongside an angled image that doesn't give much away, he wrote: "Microsoft Xbox. Confidential / Collaboration with Microsoft's IEB design group investigating future user experiences and hardware for 2015. *Work samples only permissible in person.* (March 2011)."

10 years for a console lifespan? Are you kidding me? in 10 years from 2015 we'll be lightyears ahead of consoles for gaming and EVERYTHING ELSE...

Im getting sick of consoles holding me back personally.

Unfortunately that will probably never change.

Most gamers (including myself) are casual gamers who are not interested in spending hundreds or thousands of dollars to keep up to date with the latest games and hardware.

I am for one am excited for a new console, I am still perfectly happy with the xbox 360's graphics but an update would be great.

Blizzard just goes to show how good a game can be when its not based of a port, cause we all know starcraft 2 is great, and we all know its not ported. Any PC exclusive game basically works from day one, has good keyboard layouts, and thought put into it.

Maybe one day I will get a say in this whole porting thing. I know one thing for sure, the day i get my own games company will be the day games are based of the pc and ported to consoles.

If Microsoft is apparently so big on device integration, how about stopping the exclusion of Windows users from 360-only titles like Gears 3? The original gears looks better on my PC than gears 3 does on the 360. I like Gears, it's a fun game. I don't like being forced to use a particular platform though, especially when they are both the same company.
