Thanks Guys,

I'll be doing some temp experiments when all is up and runnng. Looks like there is a way to take of the heatsinks using a thin plastic spatula as the heatsinks are attached with thermal tape:

My plan is taking off one heatsink and cutting/trimming so it fits around the fan.

Also I noticed the fan will fit over the RAM side, barely, if the fan is moved up the length of the cooler... so I might not need to trim/remove the heatsink.
