you are a water guy...that was just a hateful post dude...frown.gif.
The Hyper 212 is better than hot toast for an air cooler. Flame war stopped, you shouldn't have even posted.

What about the previously mentioned Noctua SE2 cooler? Is that better than the V6?
I think some of these benchmarks are bull**** because my Zalman CNPSX10 extreme has never hit over 61c on my rig running p95 @4.4 for 12 hours. I have to say i'm very pleased and I know that my cooler is not even close to a DH-14 or Thermalright silver arrow.

Noctua is by far a better cooler temp wise and is a quality made product that will last for years!

$26

No brainer. It will handle your modest (~4.5 ghz) with headroom to spare.

Go with noctua if you have the funds! Closed loop water systems are a joke for the price, they don't work nearly as well as a quality built air cooler. I had a h60 and even with it pulling cool air from outside the case i would hit 63c under full load.

Why does nobody actually care or look at the part of the cooler that contacts the cpu. A good cooler will make contact across the entire surface of the cpu with no deviations.

A good cooler will keep your temps where you want them for a decent price. OP has already stated he's just going to be gaming and not doing much in terms of OC'ing. If he was going to be doing more OC and maybe benching then yeah a better cooler would be called for.
