If you could afford either the 6950 or the 6970 which one would you pick?
Also would you buy 6950 x2 or one 6970?

my build so far.
Core I7 2600k
16gb Ram
H100 cooling
Asrock Motherboard
950 Watt power
Huge Case
128gb SSD

Grab two 6950's and unlock them if you can. If you can't get two then just get one. If you don't wanna unlock a 6950 and not on a budget, then feel free to do what I did and get a 6970. But there is money to save in getting a 6950 and unlocking it.

I run BF3 at max settings with msaa 4x at 1920X1080 at about 40-50 frames consistently. Never do I drop to anything below 30 and if I were too I'm definitely not noticing, also it seems to hover around 50-70 when not in a firefight. I would grab the 6950 unlock it and if you want more from your system Xfire it. You'll be saving money in the long run for cards, and a single card can be unlocked to ~90% of the performance as the card priced $100 higher, but in the end it's up to you!

Good Luck, Nick
The AA in BF3 is messed up and I recommend you turning it off and rather force AA through CCC or something else. You'll gain around 20-50 frames then.

wait, so the 6950 unlocks to 6970 is based on pure chance? i though if you get a specific type of 6950, you can unlock it
