TF2 Crashed

Thread Starter
I was playing Team Fortress 2 just a little bit ago when it crashed. This is the 3rd time (or 4th, can't remember) that this has happened to me. Anyone know why?

Also, I was wondering what you guys get for FPS in TF2, Fraps was showing 290 FPS in no fighting areas, then it would randomly drop to 150 FPS or so. Is this normal? I thought it would be higher with my system.

Verify the game files (through steam). A file might have been corrupted. Is there any relation between the times its crashed?

I've heard people are having crash issues with the latest update, but I'm not sure since I don't actively play as much as I used to. Try verifying the game files by right clicking TF2 and going to properties.

As far as your FPS question, yes, that's definitely around what you're supposed to be getting. To even reduce GPU heat you can enable VSync and be locked at 60 the entire time.

Ya, I saw on EVGA Precision, that my card was at 70 degrees Celsius and 94% load.

Ah I see, I might try that later if it crashes again. Done playing for now.

It's normal man. TF2 literally always has crashing issues. I can't remember a time in the last 2 years that I didn't get some random crashing at some point, seem to come and go with patches.

As for FPS, In no action areas its about 100-150 (maxed out, no AA or AF with custom meet the classes graphics config) and about 50-70 on the low side heavy gameplay.

TF2 only ever crashes on me when I alt-tab. Windows always tells me it crashed when I quit, I wish it would shut up.

I get 60FPS in TF2 - everything maxxxed in-game.
