XFX 9600GT 512mb OC

I got from 650/1600/900 to 775/1802/971 with EASE blew right through 3d mark 06 and few mark with no artifacts and is if every thing was fine it even made a small jump in the WEI.

Heck I probably should have tried for 790 or even 800. after fresh paste and putting an 80mm exhaust fan on the side cover it booted up in the 30s and seems to idle in the high 30s low 40s.

This model is single slot cooler with no real exhaust other than some angle vents shooting the air in the case. i thought the 80mm would help draw out any built up heat. the temps were in the high 60s 70c max before the paste and fan.

Wich surprised me, must have a golden chip or something. it may only have 64 unified pipelines but, they sure clocked high.

It is my brother's system and thats my old card. when i put new past on i saw the the water deposit from my poor attempt at water cooling long, long, long ago. it is one heck of a trooper it was actually being dripped on regulary when i had that system but, i never knew till built a new system.

it is a athlon 440+ 2.2 OCed to 2.6
4gb DDR
and of course the 9600gt

He can't afford an upgrade right now, so i optimized it by OCing it and cleaning up the software and upgrading the cooling fans. I'm not sure he needs and upgrade right now with clocks like that. biggrin.gif You know XFX was actually pretty good when they were still Nvidia.
