Skyrim unlocks at midnight tonight. If you really, really can’t wait that long to get into Skyrim’s world, or fancy seeing more of its gorgeous, mountainous geography we’ve got half an hour of footage below. It shows one man walking from one side of Skyrim to the other, fending off wolf attacks and admiring the sights.

Hype at level 11 now! biggrin.gif

Is there any way to change the FOV? How are the graphics compared to console?

They seem really good at first glance. Better than your average PC game anyway. But when you look at the textures close up they are terrible, especially the ground. Walls aren't so bad.

I've had fun with it so far, feels more gritty and serious than oblivion. Closer to morrowind. The UI takes some getting used to, it feels a bit like hard work right now for me, switching between items.

On a slightly more on-topic note, the map really is this big. If you're planning to walk across it, take a pack lunch.

Look at the above link. Already some people are doing graphical tweaks. And I must say, it's already making the game look even better.

For those to lazy to click on the link, you press tilde key the one above tab, and type fov n into the console.

Do they seriously need to make everything grey-scale? Man alive. The game looks so depressing...

I can not wait for modders to release texture packs! Especially on NPCs. The NPCs in videos had pretty low textures. Then again that was console footage, but still.

Can not wait to play tomorrow!

To each his own I guess. I hated the color saturation in Oblivion, it made things look too jubilant. I'm loving this color saturation with Skyrim though, it gives the game that rugged look, better immersion in the tone of what's happening, and I've heard that if you turn off bloom the color saturation looks even more real. I cannot wait for modders to come out with something like Oblivion Graphics Extender. I want HBAO and better DoF!!!
