Go for sandy, or sb-e or ivy?

Hello

Im mainly looking for an average capable gaming pc

My budget is around 1500 new zealand dollars (which is just under around 1.2k USD)

Im wondering if i should go get sandy bridge now, go for sb-e (which i probably cant afford) or go for ivy bridge (which i probably cant afford either)

Generally i want an overclocking capable cpu so looking at the prices of sb-e thats probably a no-no already, but im confused to what ivy bridge is, ivy bridge isnt the 3960x etc right? if so should i wait or go for a 2500k now as i can afford it.

If you were wondering what i was going to get

i5 2500k
Msi gtx 560ti tf2 oc
1tb f3 spinpoint
asus optical drive
antec 900 II v3
antec neo eco 620W psu
2x4 kingston hyperx 1600mhz (1.65v, i dont intend on oc'ing ram and gigabyte said thesse memory modules should be fine)

With your budget I would go for a sb system. The one you layed out is pretty good, my only change would be a better case such as a NZXT phantom, but of course thats my opinion and you may not feel the same.

mmmmmmm, as much as i would like to get a phantom, id find a 900 2v3 more practical to use, and from where im getting it its like 60$ cheaper and the antec quality is the same if not better

Sandy Bridge should be the easiest and cheapest (with no waiting).

You could wait for ivy bridge. I don't think it'll be much more expensive.
but you should probably go with sandy. NZXT Phantom!!

You could wait for Ivy Bridge and judge the prices then. If they don't meet your requirements, hopefully Sandy Bridge will be cheaper.

hehe, i just hope the flood in thailand goes down frown.gif. hdd prices jumped up, other than that im just going for a build ~1.5k , although its my money id probably regret buying something so expensive only to have it replaced in like 2-3 years, hence im spending just a moderate amount on the i5 2500k (if)

and @ above, although sb likes 1.5v' ram, sb doesnt hate 1.65

Ivy to come out on 11 15 2010 I thought. Depend on budget and it says you need a aftermarket cooler for cpu and SB.
