$1500 Gaming Build

Thread Starter
My friend wants a new rig and he has approximately $1500. He wants it purely for gaming and would like it to have about 1TB of storage capacity (he can hold off on the HDD for the time being I think). He was talking about wanting to squeeze a 6990 in there but IDK if the budget will allow... Any ideas?

Don't get itx if you want a true gaming rig. No offense but ITX platform is very limited in terms of upgradeability.

What you should be looking generally for that budget is:

2500k
Z68 chipset motherboard like asrock extreme4
8gb ddr3 1600mhz
6990 4gb? or maybe going SLI 570 (the 6990 may need an after market cooler because the stock heatsink blows and loud)
corsair 650w

You should be left with more than enough money to buy other luxury accessories like gaming mouse and keyboard tongue.gif

tricky....if you look for deals you should be able to squeeze in x2gpus'. either way i'd get a 2500k, 8gb ram, and an sli/crossfire compatible motherboard and psu.
