Battlefield 3 - SLI GTX460 1GB - Constantly freezing

Thread Starter
Hey all,

Having some problems with my set up. Recently picked up another 1GB 460 for SLI. Game was running perfectly (minus some browser problems) before on medium settings.

After going SLI, multiplayer has been freezing non-stop. The entire computer will lock up so that I can't even alt tab or go into task manager.
It usually happens as soon as I spot and shoot at an opponent. This continues to occur after a clean install of drivers.

After reading that another user was having success with the 280.26 drivers, I rolled back... It has helped a little, but only to delay the crash :S. Multiplayer is basically unplayable for me now.

Other info:

1) First card was EVGA GTX 460 1GB EE. Second card is an MSI hawk 1GB 460.
2) EVGA is top card, hitting about 72-73C at load (during BF3, 99% usage). MSI at load hits around 55C while on the bottom.
3) I have tested both cards individually, they are both working fine with no issues.
4) This only happens in BF3, all other games work fine.

Any ideas guys? Any help is appreciated thumb.gif

EDIT - It just happened again, I can't even toggle num lock or caps lock on the keyboard -_-.
EDIT 2 - after reading some other threads, I have tried these suggestions --> turning off certain monitoring software (e.g. evga precision) and have even decreased the overclock on my RAM. the freezing still happens frown.gif

Have a friend with the same issue. Although he has a AMD 5850 card instead. No CF.
He have tested different drivers. No improvement. Tried other memory. Downclocked the GPU. No go.
