Display goes yellow, strips, black, and all sorts of colors (I think I have a hippie card D: )

Sup lads

Well I have some kind of wierd Issue with my card (At least I think it's my card). I can play any game for hours with my GPU OCed, I belive it's stable. I've ran 3DMark and Vantage and No problem.

But sometimes, while I'm web browing, or just doing stuff in my desktop, (VERY VERY rare while in-game) my display just fails. It goes Yellow sometimes, gray with strips, vertical and horizontal, some othertimes it goes green. I can't remember what other colors. most of the time is Yellow and Gray.

Other wierd Issue is that I CAN'T finish a run of Heaven 2.5 Benchmark. It kills my display. My Display goes black and sets my monitor on stand by mode. Like there's nothing to display. I can only see the monitor's light start to flash. Yesterday I did a fresh win 7 install.(I had this problem before, on the older Win install) installed newest drivers, Updated my Win 7... I can't find a fix to this.

Anyone has any idea what could be causing this?

If anyone needs more info, I can provide it.

-Drivers: 11.10 (I've this the Heaven problem since 11.6)
-Win 7 Ultimate (If this even makes a diference)
-Stable CPU OC.
-Stable GPU OC.
-Ram: Not OC'ed.
-Not running Any kind of Ride array. Single 500GB drive.

Thanks a lot!

your card is unstable. what your describing is artefacts caused by the unstable graphics card settings. same with the monitor going black while running Heaven, when the card is unstable and causes errors CCC (Catalyst Control Centre) drivers stop working and that stops the card from working, and as we all know, no GPU no display.

only fix is to back the overclock down.

If the first doesn't fix it, move to the next and try again.

1. Go to Youtube/FlashPlayer/Firefox/Chrome etc and disable "hardware acceleration".

2. Lower the core/memory clocks or raise/lower the core voltage or combination of both.

3. Check all the temps and increase the fan speed.

I do have "Hardware acceleration disabled.
Even at stock settings I have the same problem.
I have custom fan speeds. It goes faster then the stock speeds.....

Try these:
1.)Try a different display.
2.)Reseat your graphics card.
3.)Try a different cable to the monitor.

And check the PCIe power cables/connectors are firmly inserted to PSU and card.

if its doing this at stock as well i would do as kill suggested, if that does not work then pull the card out and put it back in, it may be just seated in the pci-e slot funny.

other than that the only other things i can think of is temperature the card is getting too, or it might be your power supply. a 650watt should be fine, but with a overclocked graphics card and cpu the psu might be getting pushed too hard causing the instability. id check these two things also, check the cards temps at full load and if they are going over 80*c that might be your issue, try the card in another computer if you can as well.
