MCP655, Powerful enough???

Thread Starter
Hi guys,
Im upgrading my water cool rig. Will 1 MCP655 with EK D5 X-Top rev 2 be able to run 1 RX480 + 1 Rx360 + 1 Rx120 + 1 EK Supreme HF CPU block + 1 Ek Supreme HF Universal VGA block?
Let me know your opinion and suggestion please.
Thanks

That will be fine bud, rads arent as restrictive as they look.

I have my loop 655 > 360rad > cpu > gpu .. on setting 1.

Ok. Thanks,
I was getting worried that it might not. All are going into an 800D.

One question.. Why do you have 8 x 120 thick radiators for a cpu and gpu loop? That is HUGE over kill.. Heck.. Even one RX360 is overkill for that loop..

I highly doubt you will even notice a difference between all those rads and running one RX360..

I had RX360 + RX240 radiators for cpu and gpu loop. Changed to 3 x RX360 radiators and temperature was more than 10 degrees lower.

I agree as well. I have a Skulltrail rig here with a MCP655/Bitspower V2 top at the heart of the cooling loop. It's pushing water through a 360 rad, 2 x EK Supreme HF CPU blocks, a DD MCP X58 block, a DD Southbridge block, a Mips RAM Liquid Block 4, a Swiftech MCRES, and about 8 feet of tubing. Works perfectly with room to spare.

I find that incredibly hard to believe, Considering I used to run 1 x RX240 & 1 x RX360 for an i7 950 and 2 x GTX570's all Overclocked, I then changed to a single RX360 and saw a 2c increase in Temps..

Only way possible to get a 10c drop from adding rads is to change the fans, Re-seat the blocks due to bad contact, or sudden change in ambient temps.

Only successful thing you will gain out of adding more rads for something that's completely overkill is less noise.

RX360 + RX240, one D5 pump (+ XSPC Acrylic Dual 5.25” Reservoir for Laing D5), Swiftech Apogee XT - Prime Large 9 hours

3 x RX360, 2 x D5 pump (+ Koolance RP-452X2), Koolance CPU-370 - Prime Large 12 hours

Room temperature was about 24-25 degrees.
