Skyrim Crossfire issues? Complete list of known fix's here! 12.1a and 11.12 CAP2 links inside! - Page 50

This may have been covered in previous pages but ive had heaps of issues with stuttering in BF3 with 6870's xfire. I now have 11.12 drivers + 12.1 CAP3 drivers installed and it runs awesome but my cards r running about 5-8degree's hotter. Any reason for this???

I got the 12.1a preview drivers as well as 11.2 cap 2 and I still get flashing white brightness when in game with crossfire enabled on my sig rig. The scaling was improved, but the game is still unplayable due to the brightness. Any solution to the flashing brightness problem? I dunno if this has been covered already, and I haven't read every single post in this thread. Also my game is updated, and I'm also using the official high res texture pack. Settings maxed out.

No problems with crossfire disabled, but if I can't play it with crossfire and get better performance, then I may as well not play the game at all. Yes I really am that dense. biggrin.gif

If anyone got skyrim to run good on a similar rig to mine, with crossfire enabled let me know which CCC drivers, and caps you used.

On another note, AMDs website is not very user friendly, meaning I can't just immediately click a link and find the very latest drivers/preview drivers.

Doing iPresentInterval=0 in prefs did nothing frown.gif and the skyrim FPS limiter made my FPS jump to 62FPS with really bad screen tear (vsync was not disabled in prefs when I tested it). Anyone else have this problem?

Nvm, I guess it's documents>skyrim>skyrimpref.ini. Not the skyrimpref in the steamapps>common>skyrim. Forget I said anything... whistle.gif

I'm beginning to think my performance issues are Bulldozer related, back on the first 1-2 versions my game ran phenomenal 80-120 fps just about everywhere, and 60 in city. With every update that they "improve performance" my game gets worse, and I have to rely on apps like skyboost to get "passable performance". I went so far as to strip every mod I had installed in the game, and there is zero fps improvement.
I stumbled upon this article.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-fx-pentium-apu-benchmark,3120-3.html
It's plain as day that my FX-4100 is the best for it out of them, but it's miserable compared to everything else out there. My step father running my old Phenom X2 555 BE @ 3.8Ghz on air w/Third core unlocked blows mine away performance wise. It's a joke.
Piledriver had better blow things away or I hate to say it but I might have to go Intel, and I hate running Intel....

Yeah, finally got it working. I started the STEP 2.0 tweaks and added the iPresentInterval=0 in the skyrim ini file instead of prefs. I must not have read thoroughly enough. rolleyes.gif Could have sworn some walkthroughs said add it to the skyrimprefs file...

Get 50-200 FPS with no bugs.

I recommend STEP to everyone. Go HERE

It's not you, they have both out there, and skyrimprefs.ini works for some, and sykrim.ini works for others. No idea why, I have it in both I believe because I was having the same issue as you.

My performance with single GPU was increased about 15-20% with the above drivers, but it does nothing but screw me in crossfire. What works for one set of crossfire 6970s should work for another, and I've tried the same drivers as some others say they used with crossfire 6970s, and its gets me nothing but flashing white screens after the game loads. Ultra with no mods I'm getting consistent 55-60+fps, probably would be higher if I disabled Vsynch. With every single texture mod I can find installed, and plus better shaders, and shadows my minimum FPS is about 40 in some areas, and I still get 60fps most of the time. This is with just a single GPU working. IF crossfire worked like it should, then I would be getting consistent 60fps no matter what setting/mods installed. Skyrim isn't a GPU heavy game, but you can make it GPU heavy with mods. No mods my 6970 is only working 60-80%, with mods it stays in the 90-100% range. I could definitely boost FPS with crossfire with the mods installed , and make my FPS a consistent 55-60, similar to how it runs with no mods. Since the game is CPU heavy, and not GPU heavy, I couldn't expect a double FPS increase in crossfire on this game.

Does the game run smooth on single GPU? Yes at the resolution I'm running, but what if someone wanted to play Skyrim on 3 or 6 monitors? They couldn't and be able to get playable framerates without multiple GPUs or turning settings WAY down.

REP+ for some awesome feedback. Though, I'm curious... What res are you running it at?
