move from 24'' to 27'' worth it? or 2nd 24''?

currently have the samsung T240, quite happy with it (except for it 'scrolling' through inputs every time it starts up till it finds HDMI). now that i got my SLI rockin, been thinking of moving up in the screen size.

however, i am out of the states for the next year or so, and where i'm at the only offering is this samsung 27'':
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=24-001-392&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=10&PurchaseMark=&SelectedRating=-1&VideoOnlyMark=False&VendorMark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Page=2#scrollFullInfo

sells here for 440$.

the T240 isn't available here so if going for 2 24'' is better then i'd have to sell this one and get 2 new ones.
although i'm kinda against multiple monitors, don't know if it's just 'prejudice' tho.. tongue.gif

would be happy to hear what you guys think

cheers thumb.gif

I'm not against multiple monitors, but for gaming, 2 doesn't really do anything for you - moving to a 27" isn't going to give you more screen space, just a bigger screen size. I'd recommend upgrading to a IPS display if you're looking to upgrade something. Of course the best 27" upgrade would be a dell 27" 2560 x 1440 to allow your SLI setup to stretch its power, IPS, and of course more screen real estate smile.gif

With the 27" I'm sitting right in front, of 27" does bring you close to the usable viewing angles of TN panels sometimes. Especially the vertical limitations start to show if you're getting closer to the screen. Colors get darker a bit on the edges of the screen and stuff like that.
If I'd have to chose between the 23" and the 27" version of this display I'd probably pick the 23".

I have a T240 and a T260 and having both of them plugged in together was overwhelming. I really did not need that much real estate on my secondary screen. Now I've got an old 15" LCD in portrait mode next to my T260 and it's fantastic. I love having Zune or AIM or Ventrilo or whatever on the smaller screen while I'm gaming or working on something in front of me. It's much easier to glance over and quickly pinpoint what I want. 24 to 27" TN panel is probably not worthwhile as I did 23 to 25.5".

Edit: And to add, I'm in the market for a 30" IPS panel. IPS panels definitely do have better viewing angles, especially if you want to ever run them in portrait orientation. They are, unfortunately, much more expensive. By the way, that T2770HD is 16:9 and your T240 is 16:10, so it may not feel like as much of a screen size boost.
