Why did you cancel your order? you could have just gotten one 6990 and you would not have the problem with the CPU bottleneck.

I canceled my order because im going to use my head, not my heart for this build, I will always be an AMD overclocker no dout, but i want a super high proformace gaming pc, and right now AMD can't give me that. So for the final time i will be building an i5 rig, spec sheet to follow.

whats this about, so i have to hope for a good chip or ill bottleneck on a 2500k also, im hoping this is just a joke???

Good thing that you cancelled your order, you shouldn't worry about CPU bottlenecks if you get a 2500k and a H100 because that should OC well. You should also eiher get 2 6970s 2GB or a single 6990, 2 6970s would be faster but you wouldn't be able to upgrade later on.

I would also get something like a P8P67 motherboard or if you want, a P8Z68. (which will support PCI 3.0 i think?) this comes from an amd fanboy by the way, after I upgraded my 965 4.0 ghz to a 2500k 4.8 ghz the difference was huge, completely got rid of all the cpu bottlenecks. (2 5870s)

yeah, ive seen a lot of bad reveiws on the bulldozer chips, but i think most were bye intel loonys, i here 4.6-4.8ghz is pritty easy, would love to have it sat at 5ghz

I will leave the grammar alone.

Just so you can be enlightened with some knowledge, ASRock was a spin off from ASUS to compete with the lower end stuff. Since then they have been becoming more and more competitive to the bigger boys, like Gigabyte, and even their, I guess original parent, ASUS. I believe they are their own company nowadays though, correct me if I am wrong?

Haha are you referring to that quote in my sig? That was just a joke when someone was asking if their 4.4GHz Thuban chip was enough to game on. You shouldn't even bottleneck on a stock i5-2500k without overclocking.

Cool, the h100 was always going to be my cooling option, with push pull 2600rpm fans, and a 200mm flexy tube pulling -0c air from out of my window, for atleast the next 4 months, witch im hoping should get me to 5ghz, on the 2500k.

Im just about to read up on some mobo's for the 2500k, would very much like at least 2 16x-16x pci-e slots

I think ill be going for 2 6870s for now, as the i5 build is going to stretch the budget a bit.

I think there is a post on the other page about 2 6870's not being enough in CF for 3 monitors and no eye infinity support. Thats why we were telling you 6990/6970.

EDIT: Nevermind it looks like that was with one 6870. tongue.gif
