somebodysb2 and the Computer Case Factory

Thread Starter
as it stands now, it is still a WIP. Nothing is final here, just wanted to release it to get some feedback..and hopefully cut down on some noobie/misinformed/fanboy threads.

What this thread will cover
Quote:
Only ITX, mATX, ATX, eATX, XLATX and HTPX cases currently available on the market at the time of writing. Whenever there is a new case out, this thread will be updated accordingly.¬¬¬¬

I will not cover the looks or color scheme of a case, because it is subjective and opinionative topic, not a pro/con of a case. Nor will I rate a case higher because it has a black interior, window or whatnot.

Things to note
Quote:
In the "Fan(s):" section of each case, when I say left side or right side, I mean it as if looking at the case from the front. Also, it says the number of fans which can be installed, not how many fans it comes with. In addition, the airflow rating is based on the optimal airflow configuration of the case, not the stock airflow configuration.

If you see a listed brand which some of its cases I have left out, it means that I have left it out because it was bad or maybe because the case just came out. If you think I have forgotten a case, please post it/pm me and I will respond asap.

Airflow/Water cooling/Build quality rating:
0- Crap
1- Bad
2- Sub par
3- Good
4- Excellent
5- Best in market

GIMMICKS & MARKETING

Silverstone’s 90 degree case designs:
Many of us DIY builders are fooled into the “hot air rises” gimmick (Bravo to the SS marketing team/case designers though), the reason why (for example lets say the FT02) tops the cooling charts, is because it has 3x massive 180mm fans pushing around a 100CFM (that’s A LOT of air) each. Air is matter, it goes wherever you push it. In fact, here’s an article debunking SS’s 90 degree cases.

1) Are these your personal opinions? Or will the listed statistics be backed up by average review consensus?
2) The number of companies not listed is huge. Are you going to include examples from the global market, or your more local (asian) market?
3) Silverstone's FT02: The "heat rises" angle isn't a factor in my buying decisions. 90 and inverted layouts are chosen because they are unconventional; the case feels a little more special. I'd never buy an FT02 for air cooling though, as the orientation negates the use of many heatpipe-based coolers due to flow direction. I love the FT02, but only for water cooling.

1. The only reviews I endorse are the ones done by Vortez and Chiphell, all others review sites are a compromise.
2. If a manufacturer is not there, PM me, but its cases probably suck too much
3. FT02 won't be included in the list, the only 90 degree case that will be included is the RV03
