Wire Management Question

Thread Starter
Good afternoon,

I want to start to perfect the art of wire management, but I am having a problem that some of the best wire management rigs I have seen don't seem to have, or hide very well. It seems that when I am done, I have molex connectors kicking around or other fan plugs that are not easy to hide. I plan to sleeve everything in my case. Please share your thoughts, as I am willing to consider everything.

Thanks!

I would get some wire (Its 16 gauge for most of them) and crimp your own for the right lengthed cables.

I have an AX850. For the Molex, should I just snip the wires from the connectors supplied and extend them with 16 gauge wire? If so, what would I use to connect the old wire to the new? I am familiar and comfortable with adding new ends.

After thinking about it, I should be able to buy a big spool of 16 AWG wire, put molex connectors on one end and new pins on the other end, use the Corsair connector and make my own wires?

Yup, thats what I meant oringinally. smile.gif

I'm going to do it for the pci-e/ molex/satas/cpu. Your cable management will be flawless after that.

maybe i'm old school, (but that's hardly possible, because i'm 35 and just built my first system 6 months ago). I have no less than 3 miles of wire in a small case that was not built for cable management. Just some creativity/experimentation/desperation is all it takes to hide a few things. I'm not bragging, trust me...i use cable extensions(is that even still a sin?), and i never took a photo of the "other" side of my case. I truly don't think it matters how it's all wired...how many people ever really see it anyway? just be creative!

How about extending fans? Any idea what awg they are, and how to connect the wires?
Fans are 24AWG as far as im aware mate.

Im going to be doing some in depth wire management in my build when i get home in December, MSPC is the place to go for the perfect crimping tool and all the necessary crimps

I'm familiar with molex, but unsure how to do SATA. I've done some crimping in the past, so I'm good with that. I've seen a few builds with awesome wire management and am excited about it. I'm going from 800d to 690ii advanced because it'll be more challenging.
