Skyrim on Ultra 60FPS

Thread Starter
Hi, I've recently started playing Skyrim and I'm really enjoying it! However, the experience is slightly ruined by the fact that I'm only getting a measly 40fps on Ultra and even 25-30 fps in some situations so I've knocked it down to high for now and was wondering, what will it take for me to max it so I can run at a 60FPS average on ultra?
Will another GTX560 running in SLI be enough?

It certainly helps, I'm running 2 560's in SLI and I get 60fps just about everywhere, on Ultra @ 1920x1080. What CPU do you have because from what I have read Skyrim likes a good CPU as well.

I'm running ultra at 1366x768 (?) and I'm getting 60FPS+ and dips to about 45-50 outdoors with a single GTX 470. Yes, SLi will cure all your problems, and yeah, what CPU Are you running?

I'm running an i5-2500k and 8GB of ram, they're not an issue I think.
Bear in mind i'll only be on 1680x1050 smile.gif

Do you think I'll have enough space between cards if I run them in SLI on this motherboard: http://images.anandtech.com/doci/4330/ASUS%20Visual%20Oblique.jpg

Yeah your CPU is definitely fine for skyrim, and your motherboard has adequate spacing. You can buy another 560 to sli, but if i were you i'd just sell that original 560 and buy a better card, like a 570/6970.

Why? What makes this better than using SLI? I currently have £75 to go towards the second GTX560, if I sold the one I had the most I'd get if I was lucky is £120, I've checked ebay and the lowest is £149 where dabs have it for £140!

Is there problems with SLI? power aint a problem for me I don't think, 750w...

I'm pretty sure you're better off going SLI with the 560's over a single 570. Spend less money now and upgrade when nex gen hits.
