HD5850 Crossfire Bridge?

Thread Starter
I'm new to the Crossfire game. I've had and owned my Sapphire 5850 for 2yrs now and i'm running it on a Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4 motherboard with the Phenom II X4 965BE. Now with BF3 out my frames are a little low so I decided to pickup another 5850 to crossfire them. I could not find the same exact card used anywhere so I bought the MSI R5850 Twin Fozzr II edition today. I asked if the card came with a crossfire bridge and it does not. So i'm wondering where I can buy a crossfire bridge for these 2 cards? Are all the bridges universal and work with all ATI 4x, 5x or 6x series cards or do I need to buy a specific crossfire bridge for the 58xx series cards? I'm located in Phoenix, AZ! Thanks for the help.

You can get any CrossFireX bridge of eBay or something, they're universal. Make sure you purchase the right length though. smile.gif

EDIT: Looking at your motherboard, the bridge should be 6.15cms or longer.

Just to confirm, I only need 1 crossfire cable correct? I see some posts about using 2 of them. So which would it be? Just 1 CF cable or 2 of them? If I buy the 10cm cable it'll flex to fit for my 2 cards correct?
