I suppose I could recommend my HANNS G 28", lots of screen 1920 x 1200 res, fast response. It is a budget screen though, compared to much higher priced/comparable screens the colors probably aren't as good, and it does have some backlight bleed, but Its not noticeable unless you game with no lights and the screen has a black background.
Depends on your price range though, you could probably get a nicer 26" or so Samsung in the $300-350 range. Should have better colors. If you go for LED backlight I don't think those have issues with bleeding, and have better brightness also.

Regarding budget, I could go as high as $400-$450 if there was a really compelling monitor that suits my needs. I see a handful of 24" ASUS models all around $200 that seem like they might work, I just can't discern the difference between them. Wouldn't mind saving a few buck, but I don't want to just waste $200 either. thanks!

I don't have my U2312HM yet as it arrive here next weak, but I have a friend who have a U2311H, and I can't notice the AG to be honest. The benefits you get getting an IPS monitor like the dells outweight the cons. When I get my monitor next weak, I'll tell you if the AG bothers me or not.

The only way I will buy a TN panel is if I'm gonna be using 120Hz.

If you have the money for 120 Hz go for the Samsung SA23750. They have great color reproduction for a TN pannel and is glossy. If not them get the dell. Thats my best recomendation.

EDIT: Go and check tftcentral reviews as NinetyOne post. They have the better reviews out there with Prad.de and flatpanelshd
