Skyrim midnight launch at my local Gamestop. Crazy!

Thread Starter
Wow! Whata night! I have not seen that big of a crowd for a midnight game launch since Halo 2 back in 04 though Halo Reach was pretty busy. Wanna know an interesting fact? I talked to the Gamestop manager who I'm friends with and he said that the MW3 launch had less people then the Skyrim launch did last night, by at least 150 people!

I took some HD vids on my Droid X but the quality is pretty poor and I need to figure how how to convert .3gp format into something movie maker can reconize. For now, just pics!

Everyone needs to finalize their purchase and get it shown on their receipt. The right on the right with people sitting down have already done that. The people standing on the left still need to get their receipts finalized and then go back to the end of the line!

These poor guys to the right still have to go back of the line after getting payment finalized. I was standing in my spot were I was waiting for 3 hours prior to launch. It pays to be early!

The line is just starting to grow and stretch down to end of mall

More people are arriving and this is the back of the line that now is curving across the mall and wrapping around to the other side!

Now its starting to get a little crowded in our local mall. At this point, there is over 400+ pepole waiting in line and MORE are still walking in from the outside

Midnight
Launch time and now it really gets busy!. There are STILL people coming in from outside! So many that in fact the line in front of the gamestop across from where I took the photo is for people who STILL need to finalize their payment and receipt and then go to the back of the VERY long line to the far right!

Success!
Wooo mine at last! Then I had to figure how to actually install the damn thing via the DVD instead of Steam. mad.gif To solve this issue, go here http://www.overclock.net/t/1164726/make-skyrim-install-from-dvd-instead-of-stupid-steam

See you in the lands of Skyrim!

I have never understood going to a midnight release. Even back when I was deep into WoW, a buddy of mine went to the midnight release of WotLK, I just laughed at him. Next morning I got up and went and got mine. But thats just me. Proof here that many people will go to the midnight releases.

Same here.

While it wasn't on par with the amount you have where you are, the fact that there's literally 3 Gamestop's within a 5 mile radius and the line extended out the door at the one I was at, was impressive. I thought it would've been like the Cataclysm midnight release, boy was I wrong and grateful I got there an hour early.
