The question is as stated

I might be able to get this monitor for $350 new straight from Dell..

Is it worth it over the ASUS and other 120hz monitors?

But as far as 120hz monitors go would it be worth the $30 premium over this

ASUS VG236HE

The alienware is "normally" $449 it is $50 off now and with my EPP the chat rep says i should be able to get it for $350

Yes because the VG236HE, and along with my VE247 have ghosting issues and you have to go through the menus to fix them. Its a pain.

If I recall correctly, it is the best 23" 120Hz monitor out there at the moment, and personally feel it is the best looking monitor. I'm not usually a fan of Alienware designs but it is gorgeous. Bit-tech scored it pretty low though -

I own a VG236H and I like everything about it, except the glossiness of the screen; its just too difficult to concentrate if there's light in the room. Would've bought the AW2310 if I had the money. biggrin.gif

if your computer can't render at 120fps then it's pointless in my opinion. that aside, it's a great monitor. i'd pay the $30 premium any day.

I can render at 120 fps just fine, save for BF3
