I was cleaning the inside of my pc today, and I decided to clean the heatsink, so I dismounted it cleaned off the thermal paste and cleaned it. Only to find out that my tube of thermal paste thickened and is not the consistency it was or is supposed to be. Seeing as I have no other thermal paste on hand, and my boring city doesn't have any computer shops that I know of that have thermal paste, since Staples and Radioshack are pretty much useless. I'll have to order new thermal paste online which will take at best 4-5 days to receive. So my question is, since I put the thicker thermal paste so I could log on and ask this question. What should I do? Will it be okay if I still use the computer with this thicker paste until I get the new paste. I'm monitoring my cpu temperature, but I don't know if my temperature readings are accurate, I have a AMD Athlon 64 x2 Brisbane 5000+ I'm not overclocked or anything, should it be okay until then?
