This is the first time I've seen the new layout....it's obviously very different but not bad imo. I admit I like the way OCN used to look but I think I can get used to the new style just fine. smile.gif

I've taken screenshots and outlined some issues that I have with the skin design:

224

I strongly believe that OCN should have more skins available, and each user should freely be able to switch between skins. The forum that I frequented before OCN had 5 skins available to suit everyone's needs.

If some have been vague as to why we needed to change platforms, I know I have not been and detailed it out in the post above. VB3 was holding OCN back in a nutshell.

I forgot to say I do appreciate the reply even though it's not what I wanted to hear.

I also strongly disagree - vB was a blessing compared to this pile of ____. If it wasn't, I wouldn't find myself with tabs containing Xtremesystems, Hardforum, and Hardware Canucks open right now. Funny how all three of them utilize vBulletin and are forums that I have never visited prior to this week.

The new layout isn’t too bad, but the colors used are absolutely terrible. I find myself logging on less and less as of late frown.gif. . .

Agreed, I would much rather suffer 500 errors than put up with huddler any more redface.gif

Seems to be the new theme, new ocn less log in's, maby that's why they don't get 500 errors no more because us member's log in less and there for post less.

Although I have just turned the 2 most annoying things off, adverts and the ocn carousel
post #158 of 553
So now the only solid reason for moving the whole forum to OCN was that vB forced you to do a little coding when you wanted to add some unnecessary feature into the forum; now we have a whole bucketload of unnecessary features forced upon us, which are themselves poorly coded, and unoptimised.

wth.gif

I think I'd take the vB, where you had a fully functioning, smooth daily operational forum, where you had the option to code your own stuff, and have exactly what you wanted, while leaving the rest of the forum uncluttered and not bogged down. There are plenty of forums running very successfully on vB still, and will continue to for quite some time.

Huddler has taken what was great, and gone backwards 10 years. It's unlearned everything that OCN built up on vB.

I miss how my thread had 3 flames and now i have no no. I miss my flames, it made me feel special. New forums are pretty cool for the most part, color/brightness issue aside. I like the user reviews down the side of the page and my PMs are easy to see. Some things are still clunky when using my cell phone to surf.

+rep for OCN

Are there any plans in motion for the old OCN to be back? Maybe instead as a skin/layout one could switch off and on easily?

Would be nice, seeing this is kinda becoming an eyesore.
