Windows 7 and XP HomeGroup

Thread Starter
How can I get my XP netbook (acer aspire one) to connect to a windows 7 homegroup?

I googled a bunch of solutions and I can't get any of them to work.

I tried the method where I created a new user with a password and then "viewed network places" on the XP netbook and my computer/group wasn't there.

Any of you experienced this issue before? I've also read that it's impossible......

To be plain - there is no way. Microsoft made it clear that Home Group is Vista & 7 exclusive, XP can't connect to them. That said I have a friend that has both 7 and XP rigs on his network, only the XPs aren't on the homegroup.
