Looking for advise 1st timer watercooling.

Hi guys,

I am new to watercooling, but i have done a bit of my due diligence reading through the necessary guides and forums.

I have no need for watercooling with my current system. I am doing it strictly just for the learning and the interest; i have always wanted to join the club! biggrin.gif

I welcome any advice!!!

Points to take note:
- my current system (Q6600 OC @ 3ghz, 6gb DDR2 ram, LAN PArty x38, xf HD4870)
- i am builting my watercool in anticipation of changing to a i7 2600k arnd next year march.
- my case is Haf 912 advance asia version.
- i am looking for a single loop and only for CPU now. once i upgrade my system to i7 2600k i intend to add a GPU Block.

My shopping list:
- XSPC Raystorm CPU Block
I choose this simply because i like the look and a website called martinlabs says its is good.

- RX360 XSPC radiator $140
I intend to add a GPU block 5 months later. And i read somewhere a RX360 can handle the CPU and GPU properly. I have no more space to add in another Rad.

- Swiftech MCP655-B Pump w/Tach Sensor $134
Or should I go for the MCP355? I saw several thread arguements but end up with for this because the below reservoir looks cool. rolleyes.gif

- XSPC Acrylic Dual 5.25” Reservoir for Single Laing D5 / MCP655 $74

- XSPC 80mm - 120mm Radiator Mounting Kit
If you take a look at the Haf 912, you will realise there is not enough space to mount the rad inside. So i intend to mount on top of it. Using this kit to raise the rad.

- Bitspower Silver Shining Comp. Fitting For ID 3/8" OD 5/8" Tube x6
or maybe
- Feser Compression Fitting for ID 3/8" OD 5/8" Tubes
Feser is cheaper smile.gif

- XSPC High Flex Tubing (ID 3/8", OD 5/8") - Red / UV Orange.

I might be pushing this abit with my haf 912 casing, but I really wish to give it a try.

Been thinking about water cooling since my younger days... now that i put in some thoughts, i hope someone can guide me along. thumb.gif

thanks in advance.

wow. thanks for the quick response.
only reason why i go xspc is because my area dont sell the primochill. Primochill seems to come highly recommended.

i am right now googling whats DCC pump smile.gif

Oh, another thing. 1 option i was thinking is to go straight for the RX360 XSPC kit. since i am so new to this.

the rx360 kit would do a cpu+gpu no problem and is cheap easy option and you can upgrade as and when you need and can afford

Hey I saw you post and thought you should check this out:

http://skinneelabs.com/

I haven't done any serious water cooling myself, but I think this site might be worth looking at.

there are no reviews comparing EX and RX as far as I know, if you use yate loons they are not good fans when horizontal but fine verticle
