A8 vs i5

Thread Starter
Hi guys,
Which one of these would be best for gaming?
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834158073&Tpk=HP%20Pavilion%20dv6-6135DX
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/HP-DV7-DV7T-i5-2410M-2-3GHZ-6GB-16GB-M-500GB-17-3-1GB-HD6770M-USB-3-0-LAPTOP-/390364533650?pt=Laptops_Nov05&hash=item5ae38a1392
I know the gpu on the A8 laptop is slightly better but can it make up for the slower cpu?
Thanks in advance!

Not sure why you would think that a 6750 is quicker than a 6770 on the i5 - the 1.5ghz clock on the A8 is very low and will result in most every day task being slow (even with quad core) - I would definitely go with the i5 with the 6770m as it will be faster in every area

The i5 is faster and the 6770m outperforms the 6750m by a fair amount. The only reason you would want to buy the Newegg laptop is to save $50, otherwise there's no point.

Go with the i5. The point of an APU in a laptop is that it eliminates the need for a discrete GPU, so if you know you want a discrete GPU there is no point to getting an APU IMO.
