Which CPU should I get?

Thread Starter
My motherboard recently died so I'm deciding on upgrading instead of just replacing it. So far, I have no idea what I want.

I currently want a 2500k, as they since they seem to be at a good price as opposed to the phenom II's being so expensive that they were cheaper over half a year ago, and the Bulldozer chips having bad performance.

However, should I just wait for them to get cheaper? Since there are probably going to be Black Friday sales and the release of Bulldozer-E or something.

It's completely upto you bro, if you can afford an 2500k now why not. It probably won't come down much further as it's already at a bargain price at most retailers.

Note: There is no Bulldozer-E mate, it's SandyBridge-E coming out in the next few days.

Will Sandy Bridge-E drop the prices of the 2500k?

well considering the 1090t is now 179, down from 259 this year, the prices did drop, and not go up, so your getting your info wrong there.

I personally dont belive in waiting for tech. Wait for bulldozer e? why, it could be worse then BD, it could be better, however i doubt in the time period there are gunna catch up and beat 2500ks.

Get a 2500k and a mobo and live. Live man just Live

Not likely, since SB and SB-E are aimed at 2 very different markets. SB-E is enthusiast.

Disagreed, as seen in phenom I vs. Phenon II improvments are always made in the second generation.
intel 2500k x4 @ $100 more then a phenom x6 is better? x4 beats x6? logic would suggest only in OC not ppm.

On a side note, you mentioned you have an AMD 1100t for sale... send me a pm, we need to talk.
