testing @ 1.5 atm, the next level is 1.52 (hopefully 1.5 will be stable enough)
edit: hmm changing it to 1.5 (and lauching cpuz it shows it @ 1.52-1.55ish for my core voltage)

Watch it under load, & it should drop to around 1.45-1.47v. Just keep everything else for the most part the same as you have had it. You can try increasing your CPU-NB as sometimes that tends to help with overclocking to 4GHz +. Typically you will need 1.3-1.35v for 2800-3000MHz CPU-NB.

I would keep settings such as RAM stock or close to as stock as possible so any instability they could cause won't be an issue.

Also make sure you have Cool & Quiet, C1E, & Turbo Core disabled as well as all of your voltages manually set and not set to "auto".

prime gave me an error after 4 min, let me upload a picture of what i am seeing in my bios
and yes i have those turned off

Yeah go ahead and show me a picture of your bios so I can see what you have set and what not.

What was your voltage when you were running prime?

Heres a few things you can try changing..

CPU Clock Ratio: x16
CPU Northbridge Freq: 2000MHz or whatever is closest
CPU Host Clock Control - Change this to manual and put the CPU frequency to 250
PCIE Clock: 100
HT Link Frequency: 2000MHz or whatever is closest
Memory Clock - manually set this to whatever is closest to 1333MHz
CPU-NB VID Control: 1.15v

aaand go ahead and try 1.52 CPU voltage. And see how that works for you.

And if you want all of that other stuff that is set to normal/auto.. you can change those to what is in the column on the right. Just manually setting the voltages is something I like to do.

Alternatively.. if that does not help all for 4.0GHz, try it at 3.9 and see if it's 3.9 stable.

made the changes, and bios restarts saying the oc settings are not good and is unstable :/

That's odd.. Just try with 1.5v then? I suppose you could also try like a 222 x 18 speed. Set the FSB to 222 and the multiplier to 18.. see if that makes a difference.. although I dont see why it wouldnt want to boot at 250 FSB.. since that is the only real change that was made.

EDIT: Also raise the CPU-NB VID to 1.2 instead of 1.15.. that might of been the reason it said that but im not sure.. I can't remember the stock voltage setting tongue.gif it's somewhere around there though.

Yeah that should be fine with stock ram voltage.

is it ok that its showing 1.55 for my core voltage in cpuz?
