Running on ultra with sig rig and no problems what so ever with completely smooth frames on 64 player MP. No problems once in game (battlelog is a pile of crap).

Okay, just thought about it since the intels seem to have the most problems with this....

A friend of mine bought a Sandy Bridge Mobile Alienware M11x rev2, and he had major problems with the intel built in video of his processor trying to take over as the main video core. Maybe that is what is happening with you guys. When the video card switches to power saver mode, the Processor video does not, and it will take over as the main Video core, and usually cannot handle what your Video cards can, which will result in a crash.

Try going into BIOS and disabling the CPU Graphics. If you do not have that option, I don't know what to tell ya.

From what I've read AMD may release a performance driver this week.

You should check your framebuffer usage then, I've seen many people claiming that it's going past 2gb.

I honestly have not checked. it would max out my 1 gig 460 before I swapped in my 6950. IIRC BF3 dose scale vram usage.
