Just a thought, mainly because I have run out of money and can't really justify the cost of a sophisticated centrally managed monitoring system at the moment.

I currently have a Lamptron FC5V2 fan controller, this comes with four of those little analogue type temperature sensors that you stick around the case to monitor air temperature, I'm not sure but I think these might be 10K ohm.

Instead of using the supplied sensors would I be able to plug four inline temperature sensors, something like this, into the controller and monitor my water temperature that way while I save up for an Aquaero 5?

Any thoughts?

Yes, that will work just the same. Just make sure the Ω matches. Most new stuff is 10Ω.

even if they would be different; my aqua computer inline sensors are pretty simple metal rings with a (removable) plastic ring that fits on top of it

the sensor is just squeezed right in between these two rings, so you can easily replace it with the sensors that belong to the Scythe controller, although not when there's tubing/fittings installed on top ofcourse wink.gif

still they are surprisingly sensitive for such a "simple" design; once I fire up a CPU or GPU intensive task, the incoming/outgoing water temperature difference almost immediately rises a few tenths of a degree. And when the system is turned off for a couple of hours all temp normalize to ambient with only very minimal variations (~.1c)

coupled with the Highflow Flowrate sensor and an Aquaero 5 Pro everything is perfectly monitored and controlled, turning on and ramping up my fans to maintain a 5c water-ambient delta under load and running everything (almost) passive on idle

I only hear my flowrate sensor tick when I put my ear next to it, but then again my flowrate is around ~100 L/hour so maybe it's different at higher speeds.

I've decided to go for just a flow meter at the moment, I think this is more important to monitor coolant flow than coolant temperature, I can monitor my CPU and GPU temps just fine with AIDA64 or something similar. Actually I've run out of money having just spend a good amount on some internal lighting and other bits and pieces to add the final touches to my build.

I'll be going for the following:

INS-FM17N Coolant Flow Meter

Flow Meter Frequency Adapter

And rigging up the adapter onto one of my spare motherboard fan tachometer headers to give me an alarm/shutdown should I loose the pumps.

I used two Bitspower temp sensors to measure the in/out temps of a rad with my FC6. I'm not sure about its absolute accuracy but relative to each other they could measure a consistent 0.8C delta on the rad. I'm getting my Aquaero on Wednesday so I will be able to compare readings from the two units. I'm pending my order from AT on what I need after Wednesday so I don't expect to get the AC temp sensors for at least a week.

Hey fellas,if y'all's still monitoring this thread I'd like a bit of direction please! I have an Aquacomputer PA2 and it's cone\cted to a swiftech maelstrom res/mcp350 combo. I also have a koolance flow meter and temp sensor -- both 2 pin -- and wonder if I can connect them to the 2 pin connectors on my PA2 or if I have to get some type of adapter? I would just try it, but don't want to short out or damage anything. I also have an extra 2 pin temp sensor from a fan controller (not liquid internal type -- the ambient type) and would connect that to the 2nd temp 2 pin header on the PA2 with the flat sensor end connected directly to the pump bottom to monitor the motor temp itself if that sounds feasible. Thanks!!
