Athlon II X4 640 low PPD???????

hi guys dont know if this is the right place to post pls forgive me if i m wrong
i have a athlon II X4 640 at stock folding but the PPD is around 1550 to 1600 is this normal for a quad ?? i m also gpu folding and it seem it takes only 7mins 38sec TPF wereas the cpu takes 23mins 3secs TPF why is that ? is it normal
i m abit newbie to folding guys rolleyes.gifredface.gif

Check out the CPU folding guide HERE. You can also check your PPD compared to other CPUs in the Folding CPU database.

With the 5670, you may want to only fold with your CPU. Folding with both the CPU and GPU lowers your CPU PPD for little gain. Overclocking the CPU, if you can, will also help your PPD.

AMD GPUs need a lot of CPU time to keep the GPU supplied with data to fold. Therefore your SMP unit is suffering.

The trade-off usually isn't worth it; you'd be better dedicating your CPU to SMP folding alone.

I am currently getting 4817ppd on SMP along with 8728ppd on GPU folding. The PII is at 3.6, and the 5850 is at 860/1200

hi i m currently folding only with my cpu At 3.6Ghz and i have 6144 PPD here have a look at the attachment 6k.bmp 2906k .bmp file

I get between 6k and 10k highly dependent on which WU I receive, usually in the 7k-8k range tho. This is with a Denab@3GHz in Ubuntu.
