EDIT: the 900's are bassy, but not to much.

The 700s are incredibly nice, and the bass is not overwhelming. I assume the 900 has more bass then the other two. I say get the HARX 700, as I own a pair and have never been more pleased. While I'm not an audiophile, I have touchy ears from loud rock concerts and Concert Band performances. The 700s offer what I like to call a total immersion of sound, or ear sex.

Thread Starter
I actually just snagged a pair of grado sr60i off craigslist for 45, pretty happy with the sound so far, not too much bass either
Thanks for the help guys, might have to pick up a second pair as the grados seems pretty flimsy, doesn't seem like an ideal headphone

I've owned a pair of JVC HA-RX700's for over a year now and I love them! Highly recommended. The sound is really crisp and they sound even better once you work them in. Also, the price is unbeatable!

In ear: Sennheiser CX300-II
They cost me £20 ($40USD) one and a half years ago and it was well worth it.

If you have an amplifier the Fostex T50RP is hands down the best headphones you can buy.

If not, the SR850s are a good choice..Another would be the HTF600
