Recommend me a TV $1000-$1299

My 37" Vizio randomly died on me last week.

Now I'm looking at 40-42" TVs
Would like:
120hz
3D if possible (not mandatory, also assuming at this price range it will be passive 3D,, what are your thoughts on it)
LED if it's worth it (I hear full array is nice, not sure about edge lit)

I have been looking at LG and VIZIO it looks like they have the"best features" art this price range.

And although I know my last TV was a Vizio and died, I still like the price vs feature set.

Also I'm looking for Amazon and Walmart others are welcome if they are reputable.

EDIT:

Ok well it looks like I may open up the wallet a bit deeper, and I am looking at an LG 47LW6500
What is LED Plus w/ local dimming?
Is that equal to Full Array w/Local Dimming? (after further investigation It doesn't look like it.)
LG's page, as linked, touts this as an "IPS" panel I find that hard to believe at this price range
I can get this with freeshipping from adorama.com (found the link in a PC world article) for $949 w/ 10 pairs of 3D glasses

Otherwise what in the $1000-$1299 range would you guys recommend?

Look through some of these, see if any of these interest you.

http://www.amazon.com/mn/search/ref=sr_nr_n_0?rh=n%3A172282%2Cn%3A%21493964%2Cn%3A1266092011%2Ck%3A42%26%2334%3B+plasma%2Cn%3A172659&bbn=1266092011&sort=price&keywords=42%26%2334%3B+plasma&ie=UTF8&qid=1321236154&rnid=1266092011#/ref=sr_pg_2?rh=n%3A172282%2Cn%3A%21493964%2Cn%3A1266092011%2Cn%3A172659%2Ck%3A1080p%2Cp_n_feature_three_browse-bin%3A724228011&page=2&bbn=172659&sort=price&keywords=1080p&ie=UTF8&qid=1321236252

You want 3D? 120hz? How about 600hz? Panasonic plasmas give you the best 3D experience by far (as long as the TV isn't right next to a window in the sun). They have better blacks, faster response and refresh times, and better colors than LCDs.

However, you only get 1080p in 42" plasmas and up. While 720p is still really good (as there are problems delivering a 1080p 3D signal over HDMI anyway), you have to pay a good premium for 1080p and the awesome plasma panel.

So if resolution is important, and the TV will be in direct sunlight, get a decent LCD. If 3D is a priority and you like picture quality, or if you can stretch your budget a wee bit and get a 1080p Panasonic Viera, get a plasma. And do it soon, before they stop making them altogether.

3D isn't really "important"
Also does the 600hz have the same flicker issue like the 480hz? I assume not, but I don't know.

1080 is a must. I won't be running HD on it for TV maybe through the PC because this will be a secondary monitor to my incoming 23" AW2310 120hz.

My parents have a 65" Panasonic Viera 1080 and it is gorgeous, I have the budget to do 1080 Panny Plasma but I can't really justify the expense since I don't really need a "theater quality picture" since a lot of my movie rips are sub HD quality.

If you find a solid panny plasma thats between 500-700 and 1080P NEW please post it

These one just seem like a solid deal.
VIZIO 42" Class 3D LCD 1080p 120Hz HDTV, E3D420VX - for $629.54
or
VIZIO M421NV 42-Inch 1080p 120 Hz Edge Lit Razor LED LCD HDTV for $598.98

What are your thoughts on those? If they are decent what would be better the LED Lit or the 3D? I know the 3D is kind of a gimmick with this but would it be more "beneficial than the LED"?

I thought about this, but sometimes the "deals" are on specific models made for the holiday or on "off brand" things like Spectre, Dynex, Emerson, Polaroid etc.. I refuse to buy those type.

The holiday specific models are generally OK. say samsung or panasonic, but even those tend to be stripped down versions of their other models.

Yea, they usually do, but eh. I wouldn't take a chance on Vizio. They're barely and better and they die a lot earlier than most.

Ok well it looks like I may open up the wallet a bit deeper, and I am looking at an LG 47LW6500
What is LED Plus w/ local dimming?
Is that equal to Full Array w/Local Dimming?
LG's page, as linked, touts this as an "IPS" panel I find that hard to believe at this price range
I can get this with freeshipping from adorama.com (found the link in a PC world article) for $949 w/ 10 pairs of 3D glasses

Otherwise what in the $1000-$1299 range would you guys recommend?

What is LED Plus w/ local dimming?
Is that equal to Full Array w/Local Dimming?
LG's page, as linked, touts this as an "IPS" panel I find that hard to believe at this price range
I can get this with freeshipping from adorama.com (found the link in a PC world article) for $949 w/ 10 pairs of 3D glasses
Otherwise what in the $1000-$1299 range would you guys recommend?

AFAIK the 120hz to 240hz jump isn't worth it for the 6500/

Plus Frys Electronics just had the 55" LW5600 for 1099 USD 3 weeks ago. So I think it's bad if you spend that much on a 47 incher.

If money is no objection by all means spend away (if you're compulsive and instant gratification is much more appreciated than "value")

Before jumping to any passive 3D devices of LG know that their technology can have problems even with 2d images because of their FPR passive display.
Depending on how near you are the set you may see horizontal lines across the screen throughout the whole display even on just 2d mode!

That is not a "defect".

I may post links later regarding to this problem. I can't seem to find that article stating even the 2d problems but for now read these threads if you are truly serious about your purchase:

Again, if you'rein the US you can probably get it refunded if you don't like it or notice any problems. If not then awesome!

Just giving a warning that's all.

Yeah I'm aware of the passive 3D issues since it is only providing 540p to each eye. So 3D isn't really important, Although i figured it may be a fun "gimmick" for awhile.

Any idea of Full Array LED tv's in that range? the only ones I can seem to find are the Vizio XVT series, which has pretty solid reviews, but I want to keep my options open.
