It's really not that bad of a chip actually. The 8120 is about the same price as a 1100t and but it has 2 more cores. AMD doesn't want the performance crown, I think they are happy with where they are at.

I dont hate it, nor do I defy it, but I was expecting more than it was able to deliver. It is a piece of technology that has potential to go much further than it has gone today. The problem is that most aplications today arent made to utilize this technology to its fullest, and the technology itself is not yet polished. I do hope to see improovements with windows 8(?) and future generations bulldozer, but til then I'll stay with the good'ol phenom smile.gif

Seems like there are some games out there where the 980 can achieve nearly almost 10fps more with the same video card over the 4100.

the 980 is $160. but i see what your saying, it definately is an under performer for those "upgrading" from any phenom II. I do see positive reviews with it but its mostly people that havent upgraded in years and that dont benchmark. feels like its running really great and fast then u bench it and compare results than it doesnt "feel" so fast anymore. its reality but also some plecebo going on too. Its actually just over $100 right now on new egg which is a really good price (i gotta $15 coupon in my mail today thats why its so cheap smile.gif)

Anyways, I'll actually tell you why I am "hurt" over bulldozer to put some input into the thread.
To me, I was really looking forward to it & with all the "hype" they had about it.. it really came off pretty good. Then, they kept pushing the release date back farther and farther & it really made me wonder but I kept my hopes up. I had planned on getting one, but then when they were finally released they turned out to be a major disappointment. I'd hate to say it but this is more than likely going to make me switch over to Intel when they release Ivy Bridge.( I have always been AMD).

The POINT is you didnt have to step into my thread I posted to inform people who was interested about the price drop and you just rudely said not worth it. It just gets really old I dont see why you needed to do that? Dude its SIMPLE, dont stick your nose in there and comment if you dont care or have intentions on buying it. It obviously wasnt directed towards YOU, it was intended for those who want one sheesh. I mean QUIT crying about it and just switch already if it will make you feel better. Sorry it bursted your little bubble buddy

I knew that it will still lose to intel in gaming because of higher IPC performance and lesser cores but just for the love of AMD I was still gonna get a BD anyway as long as it's gonna be an upgrade. the release is one of the biggest surprise I had. it performs WORSE than a phenom II in games. I was shocked and disgusted. I really welt like I was betrayed. now I was forced to get an i7 950. bottleneck is now gone and games run great. amd needs to get their act together. they lost a customer

AMD is trying to do everything they can but with 10% the budget Intel and with Intel trying to demolish AMD with whatever tactic they can with their bad business practices and just flat out brutal force by paying computer makers to buy their chips and not AMD's. That just flat out SICKENS me and you got all these cry babies on here cheering intel like they are some saving grace, sorry I can not spend a dime of my heard earned money to that communist company. Figuring Im prob gonna get booted from OCN but I could care less. Filled with just a bunch of cry baby sissy's that are freakin blind and cant understand that Intel is a freakin criminal corporation!!!!!!!!!! God dang man Got the SAME damn Intel FANboi's and FANgurls even jumping into amd bulldozer threads and jsut flat out BASHING them like they are flat out crap or something?!?! i dont get it. Intel controls the market and AMD is left in the dust fighting for their lives and STILL putting out great hardware for hard working honest people. They have ALWAYS been about price/performance and have ALWAYS been in my computers performing up to par in this CORRUPT X86 market. Im done man this ish really erks me

I teared up a little reading this.. WHERE'S MY VIOLIN???

Anyways are you really that naive to think that AMD uses 100% ethical business practices? I would consider their pre-release advertising of BD to be unethical given the POST-release benchmarks/performance.

Poor Bulldozer performance is just a bunch of BS.

My overclocked $200 8120 is faster than my overclocked i5 which I bought over a year ago for about the same price.

I can get 8.00+ Cinebench on the FX-8120, on the I5, I get low to mid 7's
