Yeah first thing i noticed, just makes the board looks so clean, but whats weird is Gigabyte didn't implement it on there x79 OC like they did with the x58 OC, seems like a step backwards.
I must say EVGA boards look best of the x79 and has the best support out of all.
Asus look like a cluster fk ready to DOA and Gigabyte just look like they're not even trying "baby glock".
Gigabyte did not implement it on their "OC" board because the new X79 OC board is not actually an OC board. It is NOT the successor to the X58A-OC rather a renamed UD7 board.
Oh and, one of the huge benefits of POSCAPs is that you can insulate the boards so much easier which for sub-zero is just a godsend. Adding to this POSCAPs deliver cleaner power, they last longer, they are less prone to damage, and just overall better than standard capacitors. I will take a board with POSCAPs any time over one that uses regular capacitors.
With that said, the Classified board does look a bit bare because it uses such a huge PCB, but the FTW looks pretty good IMHO. Different strokes for different folks though. I would have preferred a matte black PCB for instance.
