I thought it was going to be "hey you pay for this 20(almost) thing every month. we give you MOAR games than you can play."

> -.- < I was not expecting another steam. Steam is great and all, but I'd rather go without it. <Steam Rant>: 15 days of "offline mode" before you have to get on the internets again. What if there was some catastrophe where you had no internet but electricity?!?!

</rant>

... i no want another steam.

Speaking of, I have an extra beta code if anyone wants it.

They do have Splinter Cell and AC? Sounds to me you just didn't do more than 1 minute of skimming. Also, this is nothing at all like steam. This is a subscription based model, Steam is about sales, gaming community and a retail.

The unlimited play has the original Assassin's Creed and some older titles I didn't take the time to download one and try it out yet since there's so many new games I have.... Skyrim.....rolleyes.gif
It seems to me like they are going turn it into a pay per month for unlimited older titles and sell the new blockbuster releases for retail digital download.
I'll mess around more with it and see if thats the case.
I also have an extra Beta code if someone wants it pm me.

It's amazing how people are making assumptions based on random logic. Have you not see GameFly on consoles? They have all the latest games always, and it's part of the sub, not required to purchase it.

Have you seen it on the PC? Because they have old games and all those new cool games your interested in are being SOLD at retail prices. The gamefly membership gives your free access to something called "unlimited pc play" which includes a bunch of older titles you can direct download for free from the cloud, and play as long as your subscription is good. Similar to netflix's streaming content not being as new as the dvd content.

Yes, I spent about an hour and a half attempting to use the browser on the (TERRIBAD SLOW) application. There are about 140 games, 10-15 of which are worth anything to play. Are they worth buying a subscription? No, not unless you have a console.

This is not a subscription based model. It is a sales model. The sub based model is for consoles, which is awesome as long as you don't want a AAA game 3-6 months after release.

You are correct about consoles, it then becomes a waiting game. I wanted Dirt 3 when it came out. Guess what I got last week and it's been on my que since before the game launched. New PC games, you have to purchase, though.

The platform was nothing like I expected. I could deal with "only install 1 new AAA title at a time or something" because then I would be utilizing my subscription, not being asked to buy the full game.

I am cancelling my gamefly membership due to this. The turn around time for console games is not worth the 20$ a month, and this PC play thing was going to keep me in my subscription. It's wholly lackluster. Not worth it IMO.
