Tales of Symphonia 2 was an OK game, ToS 1 was and is probably the best game I have ever played on a console or a PC. So many hours well spent that were put into that game.
I highly recommend both of them and yes it is better if you play 1 before 2 although tos1 was for the gamecube so you will need the gamecube peripherals

I second Xenoblade. Also it runs near perfect on Dolphin 3.0 on my rig, full frame rates, etc. So you could try it first if you want, and if you like it buy it later.

I'd go Skyward Sword, no doubt.

This winter I'm getting the Zelda limited ed 3DS and the Skyward Sword Limited Ed.

I'm a very big fan of Zelda. Skyward sword reminds me of Wind Waker, which is hands down, the best Zelda ever done.

I miss my 3ds so much since I sold it to get the Gears of War Xbox 360, so im going to definitely get one of those Zelda ones...its just too sexy. Animal Crossing is one of my all time fave game series, so WILL NOT miss it.
