Hey guys , heres a program that allows skyrim to use more than 2GB of RAM

http://www.ntcore.com/4gb_patch.php

Just download it and select your TESV.exe file and BAM , done. I could be wrong but my slow downs have almost gone away / calmed way down and mine is tweaked like mad and am running 1080p 3D.

Heres a link to a manual version but i prefer the auto http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=134

Just don't forget to make a backup of your .exe before doing this.

Correct and also if it does get corrupt some how and you didnt back it up , just delete and re-verify the data on steam and it will re download it.

This is the most retarded thing to do if u just have 4 GB of RAM.. First off.. Theres a reason why it was capped to 2 GB.. cos the game doesnt NEED more! A game with on disk size of 6GB wudnt need 4GB of memory... Everything in skyrim is super compressed! And most textures are stored in ur VRAM.. And on an avg ppl have 1GB or VRAM.. So its obvious that increasing this produces in gains in fps!

This program has been created in more then 1 thread already. So I will link you to my reply in the other thread. In short, you shouldn't need to use 4gb patch in current games as they should already be large address aware.

Well when people start downloading high res textures this is going to be needed. If skyrim is capped at 1-2gigs and your putting in high res textures you ll crash unless increase the cap. I think thats what happens =/ hmm
