The site I brought mine off took it off their website. My mate was looking at buying or but couldn't see t on their site. I emailed to ask then why and they told me gigabyte has discontinued them and they are no longer available to purchase. Which is odd as its a 3 month old board

Maybe Gigabyte discontinued a particular version of that model, e.g. changed the BIOS version or made some other minor tweak and re-released it under a new version number

What website reports this?

any reason why they discontinued it Sin?

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I came across this post while googling "G1.Sniper2 rev 2" in hopes that a new one was on the way. It was on my Newegg wish list, then 2 weeks later it says out of stock so I clicked to be notified when it is in. The very next day it is listed as "Deactivated. This item is currently out of stock and it may or may not be restocked." I can't imagine they would discontinue it figuring the other boards are different sockets, & the sniper 2 seems to be having top notch reviews. I see the assassin 2 was just released using the newest, VERY EXPENSIVE socket. I slowly have been getting the components for my PC build, and it has all been based on the LGA 1155 z68. Any light on the subject would be very appreciated.

From what I herd it was a limited edition board only out for a certian amount of time. They stopped making it so people will buy the g1.assassin2

That really sucks. It should have been listed as such. I would have purchased that first. I've always stood behind gigabyte motherboards but if that is the case I may be bringing my business elsewhere. I tried to find out how to contact gigabyte but couldn't find anything.

well they told reviewers to mention its limited edition, from what i heard they didn't know when they were going to take it off the market.

Anyways its a great board, there really is 0 need for another revision of it. you can probably find one used.

Z77 is on the way tho as well.
