Core i5 2500k Autotune OC

Hey guys i was monitoring the temps on my new CPU i installed today - the 2500k i5. I noticed it ran above 50C almost 60C while i was playing Skyrim and thought that it was a tad too hot for stock temps, specially with a +212 hyper on it.

Anyway checking the temps with core temp i noticed that my CPU was actually running at 4.3 Ghz instead of 3.3 so i realized the new mobo i got with it obviously was running auto tune - Asus P8Z68-v Pro. CPU - Z had the CPU running at around 1.3 Vcore with the CPU at 4.3 or so Ghz (103.something x 42) during a Prime 95 Torture test. The temperatures haven't really exceeded 68C during the test.

So to get to my question,

How well has Auto tune done? i mean I'm having no issues at all so far, no BSOD or anything, temps seem pretty good for the OC too, i think i did a pretty trash job with the paste on the heat sink install too. (I ran out at the last moment so went with what i had on it ><) I also like that when im idle-ing around on Youtube my Vcore drops the CPU Mhz drop it kind of goes into a relaxed mode so i'm not chugging my power while im doing nothing that necessarily needs 4Ghz of power.

My concern is leaving my CPU in the hands of automated software. Are there any additional risks? will it back off if the temps get too high? i realize nothing can trash it like prime 95, I guess it just feels too good to be true?

My theory is... If its cool, if the voltage is in boundaries, if it doesnt BSOD.. Its a keeper

This is what i was thinking, but having never used auto tune, does it abide by such boundaries?

Typically you always want to avoid any overclock tuning software. But at 1.3v and less than 70c I don't see anything wrong with that as long as it stays around that voltage and temp. That is weird though that the bclk is at 103 and stable though. I say it's totally fine though, just kinda weird.

So basically i should just leave it ?

Looks good and i mean the software wants to stay save and wont go past 1.3v pretty much

Auto-OC isn't terrible, but manual is better. For my 4.4GHz, my mobo set it to 1.32vish I think, whereas the actual voltage required through manual testing is 1.24v.

It's fine where it is, but it can always be better (good motto for overclockers).
