Tuniq Tower

Thread Starter
So when I move onto an i5 2500k can i keep my tuniq tower or will I have to replace it, I didn't buy it but got it with the CPU/mobo/ram when i bought them off a buddy, and it seems like a great little CPU cooler. Do yall know if it works with I5?

Unless Tuniq has put out a new mounting bracket you can buy, it won't line up with the holes on the board.

Edit: Are you talking about the regular or extreme version?

If it fits on 1156 it will fit on 1155. It also depends on what motherboard you use. Some like the AsRock Extreme motherboards fit 775 coolers as well.

You'd need to get this backplate shown on their website.

http://www.tuniq.com.tw/Cooler_Info/LGA1156-Backplate-set.htm

I'd try emailing them to find out how to get it.

That's only for the Tower 120 Extreme and the Propeller 120, the OP has the Tower 120.

I should have scrolled down smile.gif Thanks.

It looks like you're out of luck OP. You may want to email just in case. Maybe they have a solution for you. It can't hurt to ask.

The original Tuniq Tower 120 was abandoned a long time ago.
There weren't 1366 brackets for it.
Heck, there wasn't even a proper AM2 bracket - only a clip that was tacked onto later shipments as an afterthought. The clips had terrible mounting pressure, and were prone to allow cooler twisting.
