1- My DDR3 Freq was set to 1332 MHz and 1.5v. Is that Alright or Should I push it a little farther?

2- My auto voltages seem intelligent XD The CPU/NB voltage reads 1.25v exactly xD Guess that's fine though.

3- CPU/NB speed is up to 2380 MHz, could not put a higher value. But if I could, should I?

I'll soon post the photo of my broken CPU so you guys might take a look.

Thanks everyone.

http://www.overclock.net/t/1134229/amd-cpus-max-temps this for your temperature readings... Phenom II x4 840's max temp limit is 71'C for CORE (not for cpu , cpu temp readings are 7~10'C higher).

No one able to help me anymore xD? Well, I got another question

1- my DDR3 freq is at 1332 MHz at the bios, but AIDA64 says the clock is 637 Mhz. Is that normal or am I missing something again.. xD?.

I'm also waiting for suggestion about the other questions.

Thanks in advance.

That is normal,I may be wrong but each stick will run at 637Mhz for a combined speed of 1332Mhz.

aida64 is reading the half. 637 x 2 = 1364 . ram speeds will vary with the reference clock.
did you try unlocking that processor to see if you can get L3 cache ? i know it isnt in xd 1771's list but you never know. it might.
its nice to find something no one expects

if you dont have an unlocked multiplier, youll have to raise the reference clock to go higher on your clock speed and cpu-nb. try to get it to at least 2600mhz.

might get your ram running faster with a voltage bump to 1.65. or just try 1.6 and go up to 1.65 if it fails.

also, try overclocking 1 thing at a time. raise your ref clock and lower cpu-nb, and ram to as clock to stock as you can for the core overclock first. then drop it and work on the cpu-nb. then drop it and work on the ram. its all work and no play i know but, yeah. gotta do it right.

theres plenty of help and tutorials all over these and other forums. any problems just ask for help !

good luck

Thanks everyone.

1) 1.5v is typically fine. Make sure to check ram spec for a voltage range. You can try to push it up a notch, but you will normally need more voltage as well.. just like everything

2) Yay. thumb.gif

3) CPU-NB .. yeah you should try for a bit higher. Perhaps just another bump or so. I would really consider manually setting the voltage though..

Yup, programs will always read it as half. They are reading the base clock. It's x2 the base clock (637 in your case).

I have the same chip and have it to 269X16 so 4.304ghz and nb is 2690mhz (phenoms like higher nb) my ht is around 2100 (keep it close to 2000 as u can no performance gain and instability if clocked too high. My vcore is 1.565 in bios and touches 1.6v almost in full load with prime 95. I have water cooling h100 so don't quite go as high as me but def clock that nb up some. U have a lot of room left and just need to be able to cool it. Maybe try 250x15.5 and 1.42 volts for vcore and 1.35 for cpu/nb. Not sure of your ram but mine is 1430mhz and timings are 8-8-8-21-30 lemme know if any more questions. But u CAN go higher with this chip its tdp is 95watts so it runs cooler
667mhz ram is 1333mhz. Its ddr so double data rate. Multiply 667x2=1333 ur fine.

U cannot get ur nb higher than 2380 because ur cpu nb frequency is 238. U have to raise that because the max nb multiplier is x10 on locked cpu. If u set cpu to 250x15 that will make cpu 3.75ghz and u will be able to set nb to 2500mhz.

You guys totally rock. Would never know these stuff by my own. Thanks a lot XD Learning a lot.

But... well, i think i noobed pretty hard. I was using aida 64 and Core temp to check my temps... But I got a little worried since it shows THE CORE temperatures SEPARATELY. Well, I got HWmonitor and, as you may see, it has a CPU solo temp that is way higher tem the core ones (The core were 50 C full, the CPU on HW hit 59C...kinda alarming). Could you guys explain me the difference? Which temps REALLY matter in that case?

I'll try getting 250FSB x15 and try to pump up that NB. Meanwhile, hope you guys can help me. Thanks!

You should be paying attention to the CORE temperatures. The max temperature of the CORE temperature is 71C for your processor. The "CPU" temperature is just the socket temperature and you don't need to worry about that. Usually it'll be about ~10C higher.

Good luck with the NB! smile.gif
