Couldn't break 5.23 even with 1.6V, this was as high as I could push my 3930K, motherboard is R4E, cooling is water

Just finished my first attempt at OCing, and I think I'll leave it here for a bit! Quite happy with it smile.gif

/snip the 4.75GHz OC

Took all of this to find out I had a bad GPU, Off to try all the games I thought I couldn't play due to driver issues!

[EDIT] Up to 5 Ghz now smile.gif Seems that this chip loves to go quick!

Screen shot near the start of some prime testing. 12 hrs mprime stable @ 4.6 at 1.286V and I quit after after 8 hours @4.7 on 1.304 -1.312V (depending on load) with temps in the mid 60s on water. I must say I am very happy with the X79-MA-GD45.
Now I just need to replace this dual channel 1333MHz kit with some decent ram.

Curious what you guys are calling your voltages in your bios vs windows? I am using offset for my 4.7Ghz (+.015v) but when I go manual. 1.345v Bios = 1.415 Windows via CPU-Z and such. It varries a bit but a .05v increase from whatever I set seems common. Is the R4E more accurate in that reguard or is all the SB-E Overclocking sort of aim for one, it pulls another?

Cooling: Corsair H80

24 hour Prime stable.

Don't know if it disqualifies me, but since the vast majority of my time is occupied by gaming , I disabled H/T. I wasn't able to get this speed Prime stable for more than 10 hours with it on. Right now I feel the higher clock benefits outweigh the H/T's. So I'll run it this way until it's worth it.
