Also, that 5ghz you quoted is a 3820, not a 3930K wink.gif

Ah that would make a little more sense lol thank you thumb.gif

I loaded my saved BIOS settings and ran the CPU-Z validator. I was off on my quote above for my 4.6GHz setting. I need 1.295V and LLC at HIGH. Any higher than 4.6GHz and I have to feed it V and I don't want to do that with my chip yet. Cooling is water.

4.375GHz, 125x35, 1.250V vcore, 1.150V VSA, 1.500V VDIMM, 24/7Prime stable, max temp ~high 50's http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2340528
4.4GHz, 100x44, 1.250V vcore, 1.150V VSA, 1.500V VDIMM 24/7 Prime stable, max temp ~high 50's - http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2355575
4.6GHz, 124.5x37, 1.295V vcore, 1.200V VSA, 1.500V VDIMM, IBT Max Burn 10 run stable only (didnt do overnight on this yet), max temp ~low 60's - http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2355594

^ Nice. Care to fill in your system rig specs so we can see some more detail about that beast of a rig eek.gif ?

Got my rig specs filled and and posted some pics up as well!

My rig won't even post now, sad-smiley-002.gif I have no idea what's wrong, but I've taken it apart just to clean it all up. I don't think the problem is that it was dirty or something, I just felt like doing something.

The CPU wont even get through post, it just stays at q-code 00. It even has trouble powering up. I'm worried I could have killed the mother board. I had some of my voltages pretty high, but wouldn't I see some sort of sine of that, like really high temps or something? I'm going to put it back together tomorrow so hopefully it all works.

I am seriously considering the 2011 chip. Not that my 1366 is giving me any issues, but I really wan't a new computer and go water cooling this time. I am leaning towards Asus Rampage IV Formula. Is the Overclock capability on the Formula same as the Extreme? I can't see how one PCI E and 4 RAM DIMMS that I will never use are worth me buying the Extreme over the Formula. Unless the Formula is not as good an overclocker as the Extreme is, I think Formula is the way to go.

I'm in the same boat, currently have an i7 920 and I'm wondering if I would notice a difference when working with Photoshop if I jumped to a 3930k?
