Your fine, those temps would make me uncomfortable but they are well within the acceptable range.

Pretty good temps for air, and well within acceptable levels. A good 20+ degrees off absolute max thumb.gif

Dangit. Just playing WoT last night and got a nice 101 Bsod. Grrr. Decided to lower the LLC another notch and bump the offset. Didn't have time to test stability but after 3 bumps and 10min test I have it up to +.105 offset which hits 1.485 vcore max vid. (staying around 1.456 more or less under load though).

Will have to tinker with it some more tonight, but it is starting to worry me that this chip needs more power than I can cool properly just to stay around 4.7 frown.gif (At least during the summer).

What I don't get is sometimes at lower voltages, OCCT will just throw an error detected message, then I bump voltage and get a 101 bsod the next time. Anyone else using offset on their 3930 and have any tips I may have missed?

Edit: Looking around, there are quite a few others getting up to 4.8Ghz OC's out of their K's with less than 1.42vcore. I need to take a good look and figure out what other setting might be causing the 101's. But when you get a core error detected when testing in under 15min, that has to be raw core voltage right?

Gah, so much to relearn on these damn -E's.

Curious, can 101 erros come from the mem controller by any chance? Running my ram at rated 2133 which has yet to bring out any memory errors, but could it be pushing the CPU that much harder than say 1800?

Hey all my fellow 3930K owners here at OCN, let's get to folding for the Chimp Challenge. We can really make a difference! My 3930K is putting out 4 times the PPD (points per day) as my 2600K. And both my machines are at 4.8Ghz. Only 8 days left. See the link in my sig below for the thread on joining, and then go read this short thread on the best way to setup FAH for the 3930K: http://www.overclock.net/t/1247236/how-to-get-the-most-ppd-with-3930k

We are currently in 2nd place: http://www.overclock.net/f/55/overclock-net-folding-home-team

We need more folders!!!

hi guys. my 1st time here. Couldnt find a thread related to the Xeon E5-26XX ES [Sandy Bridge-EP] I'm using in my rig, so I'm posting in the next closest place.

571

2.56ghz, 8c16t, 0.925V in BIOS, idle 42deg, load 50 deg (running F@H)

unexpectedly found a solution to decent processing power with minimal heat. wink.gif

Awesome CPU. What kind of PPD are you seeing with it ? Are you folding for OCNChimpin ? There is a team competition going on right now and we could use a beast like that!

PPD varies depending on WU. current one gives est. PPD of 19000+. That's about it now cos I still can't get my GTX 670 to start folding.
And I'm folding for my home country. Happens to have a small group for it. LOL

Cool, good luck. Looks like a nice chip there.

Scorpion!!!! LTNS, see u still rockin' the TP67XE! I knew we were right about that board. ;-)

As far as 3D rendering and other true multi-tasking apps, yeah the 3930K is the shizz. Got mine at 4.8 and pegged for 3 days straight now folding in the CC for OCN. Not a single hiccup at 1.352V !!!

And although I'm a n00b at folding, from what I can gather 144K PPD is pretty good. wink.gif
