I cant seem to find much info on it. I kinda get the idea of what it does but I have no idea what setting would be a good starting point, can I damage the chip by setting it too high or is it just a case of keeping an eye on your temps? There just doesn't seem to be much info on it or anyone mentioning there findings with it.

On my X79 Classy, increasing that frequency will help with OCs that BSOD/Freeze within the first few seconds of stress testing, I have a theory as to what it does but not for sure...

What I think increasing that frequency does is make the VRM's update the voltage more often and when you put your chip under sudden load the VRM's at stock don't compensate soon enough causing a OC to fail but if you increase their frequency then they update more often making the initial voltage sag lesser than at stock VRM frequency

That voltage...

I wonder if putting 1.7v through my chip would help...

Jokah, you've read http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?5835-ASUS-Rampage-IV-Extreme-UEFI-Guide-for-Overclocking ?
There's a section on Digi+ Power Control.

Yes I have. I've read everything I can find but no one seems to have commented on there findings. I'm going to experiment my self tonight. I think the main thing I wanted to know was what setting or frequency it operates at while set to auto so I know a good setting to start with?

Thanks for your input but as I say I unfortunately don't think it will help in my predicament as it goes from stress stability with low voltage to unable to even get into windows with any voltage.

Ok, dude! You should be disqualified. That poor chip. Soon green peace will show up and bully you. tongue.gif

For the next weeks I am done with torturing my chip.
Here is the result:

Good luck with your overclocks gentlemen - you have some impressive things going on! thumb.gif
It is an honour to compete with you.
Thank you.

And thank you very much OverK1LL for maintaining the list - I know from the RAM club that it takes time and effort to keep it up-to-date.

Lolz, mineseeper.
Dude we have 2012, we run purble place!
Sadly I have to get a second 680 to play in 1080p wth.gif

As much as I love the good old "minesweeper PRO league" days - purble place is the way to go now thumb.gif

Are the voltages shown accurate? 1.4V + on the VTT & system agent? Haven't looked at the 3820 much but looks like mucho volts.

Sadly the required screenshot was saved there - so hwbot will have to wait.

// All this would not have happened if hwbot would accept 64bit CPU-z validations. sozo.gif
@HOMECINEMA-PC, why the heck do you use a trial version of HWmonitor pro? Why dont you use the normal version - you could see the temps of all cores without restriction.
Besides nice o.c.

Already hit the multi quote & I was going to say nice OC until I saw the post down below. redface.gif

Probably not. I wish I had your chip for MOA earlier this year.

I was pretty much at max already. I'd love more but the hexcores are just so expensive to bin...
