@ Don Karnage. I was able to run stress on stock volts at 4ghz 1.160v max temps were only 52c on the H80.

Awesome overclocks guys. Question can any of you tell me if i should be overclocking my cpu using the mostly the multi like it seems all the sand bridge are using? what i mean is should i be cranking up the multi on my 990X? right now im running stable at 143 x 32 4576.3mhz. I noticed that all the sandybridge posts drop the bus down to 100 and fire up the multiplier.

I'm just ok when it comes to knowing about overclocking to be honest. I have had mine stable for months now , but then after reading this thread, im curious about messing with the multi, I have all 6 cores active. Any help would be appreciated guys.

With Sandy Bridge intel integrated the Pci bus and a few other things into the BCLK so the old school overclocking is pretty much dead.

VCCSA is for the IMC, the integrated memory controller
VCCIO is qpi/vtt it is part of the system agent, dealing with memory somewhat as well, but more the PECI

Set them around the same voltage, so at stock they are 1.05v for vtt and 0.9v for system agent. Both have an impact on memory OC, but not at all on CPU OC.

1.35v is common for both of them to get to 2400mhz, and btw you wont be able to do max clocks with higher memory speed, you need to keep cpu frequency lower like 4ghz maybe 4.5 if you are lucky. its give and take, personally id take1600 cas 7 is better than 2400cal 11 if you can clock the CPu 500mhz higher. Also don't be sad if your DDR3 2400 wont hit 2400mhz, its heavily dependent on the CPU, unlike SB where every CPu could do 2133mhz with ease, and with minor increase in qpi/vtt vccio, SBe is different. Also C0 ES clock memory much better than C1 retails in general. But C1 retails clock frequency higher.

BTW i told you i could do lover voltage, lol 1.62v not needed! http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2116892

Well i'm now an official Intel member, after 6 hours of motherboard swapping + i remade all the HAF-X, it's cleaner now. Win7 change was a breeze, i lost some settings but had no problem to swap from an AMD setting (did some uninstall for specific hardware + a sysprep).

Anyway here's a screenshot (no validation since i didn't made any stress test yet):

374

And there's some curious things: 1/ realtemp display only 4 core, excepted i have really 6 cores + HT recognized by win 7, and 2/ the memory details aren't displayed at all, i don't think that's a major bug.

At 4.7Ghz, the UD3 allowed me only this freq with no less than 1.465V. Of course it's a bit worse than you, but for an "entry level" motherboard it's not bad at all.

Now time to stress this thing !

Great job guys, I'm very impressed with the voltages some of you are getting. Mine seems to be a thirsty beast, I have not had any success getting her stable at 4.7ghz with a vcore below 1.4x volts. Temps are fine at that voltage, 70c max under load on Prime 95, low-mid 30's at idle. Once I get some good solid data I'll post pictures.

My stable limit for now seems to be 4.5Ghz, i'll try again when i'll update the RAM in january.
The display bug in CPU-Z is fixed w/ the last version (forgot to install it)

So here's the validation: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2117355

And here's the screenshots:
372
372

I also just tested my virtual machine and finally can enjoy direct harware acceleration in it thumb.gif

NB: i confirm that Vt-d enabled occurs weird instabilities, the C1 is only a fix for it and Vt-d is disabled. But anyway Vt-x is more major than this new feature.

Aye I've noticed the CPU requires 0.02-0.03 more on the Vcore to be stable if I raise the memory divider from ~1700 to >2000MHz range

edit: thats using 4x 2GB Patriot 2400MHz dimms
