I am in no way accusing anyone of anything with this so please dont anyone take it that way.

I ordered the H100 just to check it out. I have not installed it yet but I cant see any way this will hold any voltage at over 1.45v.
It just doesnt look like it has the ass for it. I had two radiators that were both nice swiftech dual pass double 120s and it would hold temps but was struggling.
Makes no sense to me that people are getting supreme performance with these coolers.

Awesome! What kind of cinebench scores do you get @ 5.2?

Btw- love your name - it was my childhood nickname! Funny stuff!

Prost!

@abeeftec, I have only the H80 on my chip and my office stays 70f all year. The H80 can only cope with 4.8ghz with a load voltage of 1.376v and that keeps my chip under 75c peak on a core and stays at 70c durning prime blend. IBT will get 78c on a core peak. I won't run stress or push all 6cores to 100% any higher with the H80. If your able to hold good temps up to 1.450v with the H100, I'd say that's about right. I couldn't keep my chip under 80c if I used 1.450v I bet even at the same 4.8ghz setting. These coolers run slower pumps and small hoses. They can't do what a good double rad and nice pump does.

@tecton3d, I could never run cinebench at that speed on my H80. My temps would go through the roof devil.gif . Wish I had a custom water setup or even my water chiller so I could run those speeds or even higher. HA, that nickname came from my last name. There close biggrin.gif .

@abeeftec, i have the H100 and am at 65-70c max under IBT @ 4.5Ghz w/ 1.344V

By the way, out the subject, next time I'll switch of motherboard i'll follow the advice of some people here who says that's better to reinstall windows. I had some file corruption (mainly on the C drive) and yesterday one of my SSD's partition, the one w/ all my dev/3d app + working files mad.gif , simply disappeared. The unit was RAW, like a perfect new unit. I tried to recover the data, and 2 things prevented me, the core parking tweak and O&O Clever Cache, after reverted the tweak and deleted CleverCache i had been able to recover the files, but they're all ****ed up, even simple text files are filed with all sort of exotic caracters. It's here that you thanks yourself to do regularly backups, especially for the dev work.
Anyway, since I must reinstall my apps, it's better to reinstall completely win7 this weekend, just to do the things properly. Thanks to my stupidity to lost a complete week of dev. thumb.gif

The switch from AMD to Intel was too much for it tongue.gif

My H100 keeps my 3930K under 60C @ 4.6GHz 24/7 no problems. I'm sure I could run 4.8GHz and keep it under 70C. My ambients aren't even low.

H100 is a really nice piece of tech for how easy it is to setup and how hassle free it is. It'll never beat a Rasa kit or custom loop, but that's not why it exists.

I have one hot core and that may be the death of me.

@Hamboneo7si when I said I was holding good temps at 1.45v I was refering to using an EX200 with 2 Dual pass radiators dipped in cooler of ICE.

I must say I am impressed with the H100s idle temps. They are holding better then my Thermalright Ultra 120 which personally the Thermalright Ultra 120 with MX3(no other MX or paste for that matter works efficiently as MX-3) has held the best temps of any Air cooler and I have tried all the top choices with the exception of the Silver Arrow. So it is beating my best cooler so far.
I suppose I hated corsair from the reviews the H50 and H70 got. I Remember a trip to Microcenter where I got into it sort of with a guy who was building a system for his buddy and picked out the H50 and I told him the Thermalright was superior to the H50 and he didnt trust that. My experience with the H50 and 70 are that they are the worst coolers anyone could purchase to try to hold temps on a high overclock.
I guess Corsair got better at cooling. here is a pic of my Hot core!

I was wondering when we would see a Evga x79 owner. How's that board? How's the bios?

EDIT: I have a request if you would biggrin.gif

Board is great. BIOS mehhh not up to snuff just quite yet. Over on the EVGA forums they are hard at work fixing the issues though. At 850 Core it's gonna be damn near impossible to beat those monstrous 480's in Heaven with Extreme Tess on. The 6970's have a rough time with 470's much less anything better once the Tessellation is packed on. Hell at those clocks I'm sure you're beating the 580's in that benchmark. I'm game though.

Any reason I should use 2.1 over 2.5?

And INSANE Score by the way!!

Cool. I,m waiting for my new PSU (my Corsair AX1200 decided to crap on me...), and then will bench my Quad-Fire Quad Lightning 6970 (watercooled).

It will be interesting to compare Tri vs Quad 6970.
