Good and bad news...

...I was able to get the 3960x prime95 stable @ 4.7ghz with only 1.31v which was phenominal temp wise, but after bumping the vcore down to 1.30v I received a BSOD 101. Now the Rampage IV is stuck at the BIOS splash screen and basically is a sitting brick! I tried clearing the cmos, removing the battery, unplugged it from psu and did the same, nothing works. I don't know what happened- If I ruined my cpu or my board? I posted on the ROG forums to see what Raja/Shammy say.

I have had this happen before and oddly I took out all my ram and and hit the power button after clearing CMos with no ram in. Of course you get a beep code. Then clear Cmos again and put one stick of ram back in.

Also, Try unhooking power from the entire board

Edit: i got a phone call in the middle of writting this and hit send. LOL

This will drain everything out of the board. But take the battery out as well pull all the power from the board and if the board has a CL Cmos BOARD JUMPER(not a CL CMOS Button) use the jumper for about 30 minutes with nothing attached to the board. It may work. Your settings should not had been enough to wig the board out.. I suppose I didnt read your post thoroughly

Does anybody know how to remove the poll?!

I've set it to expire, clicked, delete, but it's still there... mocking me.

Sometimes just disconnecting ALL the power and leaving the jumper set to clear for a while like overnight works.... give it a shot.

@Overkill
Opps,
Check my validation on the leaderboard.When you click on it it gives you an older score at 5.3ghz. Should be the validation above.
I sent it in but I will send it in again just in case it didnt get through.

HAHA. I guess 1.375v for 4.8ghz isn't stable or my idle Vcore is too low. I'm using offset +.025v and LLC Ultra high. I passed 2hrs of prime with no errors, but I was just making some 3d models in Inventor and went to move my model around and got a 101 code. My cpu isn't under full load all the time, I guess it may just need more of a offset to the VID and maybe one notch lower on LLC thinking.gif

So how would we test stability of Offset setups for when the cpu jumps from say 1.2ghz (no load) to 3.2ghz (some load)? Is there a way to test that? Or do you just have to over compensate with the right offset and LLC? Haven't really seen anyone ask this before.

Does under-volting really work? I've never tried it myself.. I don't think I understand enough about CPU voltages to try. redface.gif
